Deep Treatment of Nickel Electroplating Wastewater

During the cold rolling and metal surface treatment processes, steel mills and electroplating plants produce a large amount of acid wash solutions. These acid wash solutions have strong acidity (pH<1) and high metal content. If they enter the natural world, they have great toxicity to aquatic organisms and microorganisms, seriously polluting the environment and damaging ecological balance. In recent years, new progress has been made in surface treatment technology, and the use of a large number of chelating agents has made the composition of electroplating wastewater increasingly complex. Compared with free heavy metal ions, complex heavy metals form stable complexes with substances such as EDTA, citric acid, tartaric acid, etc., making removal more difficult. After neutralization precipitation, Fenton oxidation, photocatalytic oxidation and other methods, the metal content cannot meet the standard for discharge (below 0.1mg/L), and cannot be directly discharged.

Our company uses special nickel removal adsorbents and processes to treat nickel containing electroplating wastewater treated by neutralization method in a certain electroplating plant. Without breaking the network, the nickel content in the wastewater is reduced from 40mg/L to 0.05mg/L, meeting the discharge standards. Compared with other methods, the adsorbents and processes developed by our company have significant advantages in terms of treatment depth, operating costs, and resource recovery, providing a complete solution for the treatment of wastewater containing complex heavy metals for enterprises.
