Sieber Resin

Sieber resin is used for synthesizing peptide amides and is widely applied in peptide drug production due to its unique functional group side chain structure that effectively avoids side reactions.


Characteristics

The functional group is an amino group;

Ultra-acid sensitive, and cleavage can be completed under extremely mild conditions of 1% TFA.

Commonly used is Sieber resin with the amino group protected by Fmoc. When loading the first amino acid, Fmoc needs to be removed first. The steric hindrance of this packing is smaller than that of Rink resin, so it has more advantages than Rink resin in synthesizing peptides containing amino acids with large steric hindrance.

Applications

Compared with Rink resin, Sieber Amide is not only suitable for synthesizing C-terminal amidated peptides but also for synthesizing partially protected peptide amide fragments, having more advantages in synthesizing peptides with special functions.
