HP-2CTC resin is a polymer used for solid-phase peptide synthesis. In solid-phase peptide synthesis, it bonds with the carboxyl end of amino acids through functional groups to allow peptide chain growth. It can avoid many side reactions and has mild cleavage conditions, making it suitable for fragment synthesis to prepare longer-chain peptides with higher purity. Therefore, HP-2CTC resin should have a large number of stable functional groups to improve yield and fully swell in solvents to reduce steric hindrance and increase the binding rate.
Extremely sensitive to water and must be handled and stored under inert conditions; if the resin is inactivated, it can be tried to restore activity by treatment with thionyl chloride before use.
This resin can avoid racemization side reactions and DKP side reactions produced by Wang resin, making it very suitable for preparing peptides containing C-terminal Cys, His, Met, Tyr, and Pro residues.
Mild cleavage conditions; usually, 0.5% TFA can release amino acids from the resin.
