#Fluorine containing wastewater treatment # Fluoride containing wastewater mainly comes from industrial production such as metallurgy, glass, plastics, cement, steel, aluminum electrolysis, phosphate fertilizer, etc.
The commonly used methods for fluorine-containing wastewater at home and abroad include coagulation precipitation, ion exchange, membrane filtration, adsorption, etc.
(1) Coagulation sedimentation method
Coagulation precipitation method is a major chemical treatment method in wastewater treatment. The basic principle of coagulation method is to add coagulants to the wastewater. As coagulants are electrolytes, they form micelles in the wastewater, which neutralize the colloidal substances in the wastewater and form floc sedimentation.
However, the coagulation sedimentation tank generally has the disadvantages of being large in size, occupying a large area, having a long residence time, generating a large amount of sludge, and difficult to meet effluent standards.
(2) Ion exchange method
Ion exchange is the use of the ion exchange function of anion exchange resin to achieve the purpose of fluoride removal. Ion exchange resin is a polymer with corresponding functional groups.
The ion exchange method also has its drawbacks, such as generating excessive regeneration waste liquid, long adsorption cycle, and consuming a large amount of desorbent. Discharging a large amount of salt containing wastewater can easily cause pipeline corrosion, expensive materials, and difficult resin regeneration treatment.
(3) Membrane filtration method
Membrane separation technology mainly refers to the technical means of separating solutes and solvents in wastewater under the action of external energy through the selective action of membranes. Compared with conventional separation methods, membrane separation process has the advantages of non polluting the environment, low energy consumption, high efficiency, and simple process. However, membrane treatment generally requires large investment, complex operation process, short membrane service life, and requires frequent membrane replacement.
When using Haipu's adsorption process to treat fluorine-containing wastewater, the wastewater is pre filtered to remove suspended and particulate matter, and then enters the adsorption tower for adsorption. The special adsorption material filled in the adsorption tower selectively adsorbs and enriches fluorine in the wastewater, reducing the fluoride concentration in the adsorbed water.
| Index | Fluorine |
| Absorb incoming water | 20mg/L |
| Adsorbed water 1 | 0.8mg/L |
| Adsorbed water 2 | 0.5mg/L |
| Adsorbed water 3 | 0.7mg/L |
After being treated by Haipu adsorption, the fluoride removal rate in the wastewater of the enterprise reached over 97%.
Keeping a certain safety margin while ensuring compliance with customer requirements can effectively prevent water quality fluctuations in the incoming wastewater from causing substandard effluent.
