On August 16, 2017, our manager, Nie Yuxi, participated in the second Maker Competition in Gaoqing County, Zibo, with the new technology "New Materials and Solutions for Waste Acid Treatment and Resource Utilization." Ultimately, our related technology won the first prize in this competition.
Table 1 provides a comprehensive comparison of the current conventional waste acid treatment methods.
Table 1: Waste Acid Treatment Methods
| Method | Characteristic | Shortcoming |
| Zhonghe law | Simple operation, reliable technology, and pH compliant discharge | Generate a large amount of solid slag and require subsequent treatment For highly acidic waste acids, the treatment cost is high |
| Extraction method | Good separation effect | High technical requirements and complex operation steps, Suitable extractants are difficult to obtain and have high operating costs |
| Evaporation concentration method | High concentration of recycled acid | High requirements for equipment, requiring corrosion-resistant materials, Equipment is prone to scaling and requires frequent cleaning |
| Spray roasting | No secondary pollution, high regeneration rate of hydrochloric acid | Large land area and high investment, Consuming a large amount of cooling water, electricity, fuel, etc., resulting in high operating costs |
Our company has independently developed a special resin tailored to the characteristics of waste acid. This special resin utilizes functional groups within its polymer structure to adsorb organic substances or metal ions from wastewater, achieving efficient separation of acid from organic substances or metals. Centered around this special resin, we have developed supporting application processes and treatment equipment. The purified acid can be reused in production. After the resin is saturated with adsorbed substances, desorption is performed on the adsorbent. Metals can be recovered, and organic substances can be recycled. If the organic substances have no recycling value, they can be incinerated or subjected to harmless treatment by outsourcing.
Compared to the treatment methods listed in Table 1, our technology has significant advantages in both product and process aspects. As the first prize winner of this competition, our company will participate in the city-level finals, the Zibo Entrepreneurship Competition, in September.
