Treatment of Chloropyridine Bipyridine Wastewater

Chloropyridine is a common structure or intermediate in fine chemical products such as pharmaceuticals and pesticides, with a wide range of market applications.

Treatment of Chloropyridine Bipyridine Wastewater

Pyridine compounds have a foul odor, toxic effects on nerves, and damage to the cornea. There are many types of substances with pyridine rings, but they all have pyridine ring structures, which are stable and difficult to degrade. Pyridine and its derivatives are more stable than benzene and difficult to oxidize; Moreover, pyridine compounds have strong inhibitory or toxic effects on biological bacteria involved in biochemical processes, making it difficult to directly treat wastewater containing pyridine compounds using biochemical methods.

In summary, these are the following points:

(1) The composition of wastewater is complex, and the reaction materials are often solvents or cyclic compounds, which increases the difficulty of wastewater treatment.

(2) Belonging to highly polluted wastewater with high chromaticity, COD cannot be measured, there are many biologically recalcitrant substances, low BOD/COD, and poor biodegradability.

Pyridine wastewater cannot be directly discharged through the above methods, so it must be deeply treated. The adsorption method developed by Jiangsu Haipu Functional Materials can achieve the treatment effect, and has the following three advantages:

(1) Efficiently and stably remove pyridine from wastewater below the discharge limit;

(2) Low investment cost, low operating cost, and convenient equipment operation and maintenance;

(3) Advanced and reliable technology, with no secondary pollution.

The principle of the Haipu adsorption process is to use the special adsorption materials developed by our company to selectively adsorb the components or substances to be removed. When the adsorption is saturated, a specific desorption agent is used to desorb the adsorption material, allowing it to be regenerated. This process continues in a continuous cycle.

Using adsorption technology to treat pyridine wastewater, experiments have shown that using special adsorbents for adsorption can effectively reduce the concentration of pyridine in wastewater.

After adsorption treatment, the experimental treatment effect of our Guangxi customer's wastewater showed that the removal rate of pyridine in the wastewater reached over 99% using adsorption treatment. While ensuring that the customer's requirements were met, a certain safety margin was left, which can effectively prevent water quality fluctuations in the incoming wastewater from causing the effluent to not meet the standards.

From the above figure, it can be seen that the raw water is yellow, the adsorbed water is light yellow, and the pyridine in the wastewater is almost completely removed. Experiments have shown that using special adsorbents for adsorption can effectively reduce the concentration of pyridine in wastewater.
