In today's society, deliberate pursuit of economic development has led to varying degrees of pollution in many parts of China, resulting in frequent occurrences of various diseases such as cancer. Especially serious are rural areas, where enterprises, in pursuit of profits, restrict factories and neglect water pollution control, leading to severe water pollution in rural areas. Most villagers drink heavily polluted groundwater. For example, taking water with excessive phosphorus content can cause damage to the liver, kidneys, mucous membranes (digestive tract, skin), nerves, respiratory and cardiovascular systems, and in severe cases, can be life-threatening.


In agricultural production, glyphosate is widely used as a safe and efficient herbicide. Studies have shown that after entering plants for 6-7 days, most of glyphosate is metabolized and decomposed. However, the wastewater generated during the production of glyphosate is a difficult environmental management problem in the industry. Due to the high water solubility of glyphosate, the wastewater still contains 1-2% glyphosate, and has a high salt content, strong acidity (pH value of about 1), and poor biodegradability. Conventional destructive treatment methods (such as oxidation) are difficult to achieve efficient treatment, especially the inability to recycle glyphosate, resulting in resource waste. Membrane method, extraction method, distillation method and other methods can be used to treat glyphosate wastewater. Although glyphosate can be recovered, the purity of the recovered glyphosate is relatively low.


Our company has successfully developed a special glyphosate adsorbent and its supporting application process for wastewater with a glyphosate content of about 2% from a certain agricultural chemical plant. The recovery rate of glyphosate has reached 95%, which not only achieves the goal of resource recovery but also reduces the total phosphorus and other indicators in the wastewater, providing a guarantee for subsequent standard treatment.
