The COD index reflects the degree of water pollution and can be used as a comprehensive indicator of the relative content of organic matter. The higher the COD, the more severe the pollution of organic matter in the water body. At present, the main methods for removing COD from wastewater are biological and physicochemical methods. However, some wastewater with complex properties, such as leachate from garbage, fine chemical, pharmaceutical, pesticide wastewater, etc., have large water quality changes, high heavy metal and ammonia nitrogen content, and poor biodegradability, making it difficult to thoroughly treat them using biological methods.


In addition, with the improvement of wastewater discharge standards, general physical and chemical methods are also difficult to reduce the concentration of COD in wastewater to the standard level, which cannot meet the requirements of upgrading and transformation. When using Haipu's adsorption process to treat COD wastewater, the wastewater is pre filtered to remove suspended and particulate matter, and then enters the adsorption tower for adsorption. The special adsorption material filled in the adsorption tower can adsorb the organic matter in the wastewater on the surface of the material, ensuring that the effluent continues to meet the discharge standards.


After adsorption saturation, specific desorption agents are used to desorb the adsorbent material, allowing it to regenerate, and this process is continuously repeated.

Fine chemical enterprises handle COD projects

This project is a fine chemical production wastewater in Shandong, with a COD content of 60000mg/L. After treatment with Haipu adsorption resin products and supporting processes, the COD concentration was reduced to 500mg/L, with a removal rate of 98.3%.


The original direct entry into MVR caused MVR blockage, and the steamed salt is hazardous waste with high processing costs. After this process, the steamed salt is white, making it the first production enterprise in Shandong to classify waste salt as general solid waste after treatment.

Textile enterprise COD removal project

The production process of a textile enterprise can generate~2500 tons of wastewater per day. According to policy regulations, the wastewater reuse rate in the printing and dyeing industry must reach 60%. The existing wastewater treatment process of the enterprise has excessive COD in the biochemical effluent, which does not meet the reuse standard.

Agricultural chemical enterprise project

300 tons/day of heterocyclic wastewater from a certain agricultural chemical plant in Jiangsu, with a COD content of 45000mg/L, was reduced to 3000mg/L after treatment by Haipu, with a removal rate of 93.3%. At the same time, difficult to biodegrade heterocyclic organic compounds were removed, improving biodegradability and providing guarantees for subsequent biochemical standard treatment.


Previously, incineration treatment was used, and the cost of treating each ton of wastewater exceeded 1000 yuan. After switching to adsorption treatment, it has been reduced to 200 yuan. Currently, Haipu has 6 sets of equipment in stable operation in the company.

Chemical enterprises handle projects

A fine chemical enterprise in Jiangsu produces high salt and high COD wastewater. After treatment with Haipu COD removal adsorption resin products and their supporting processes, the COD was reduced from 19000mg/L to 500mg/L, providing a guarantee for subsequent MVR evaporation desalination of the effluent.

COD removal project for high salt wastewater in the food industry

The COD and salt content in the wastewater of a large pickled fruit enterprise are both high, and the salt component is only ordinary edible sodium chloride. This wastewater cannot directly enter the existing biochemical system, and steaming salt directly will produce a large amount of dark hazardous waste. After being treated with our company's special adsorbent, the salt evaporation whiteness of the effluent has significantly increased, reaching the reuse standard. The treatment effect is shown in the figure.

Organic acid COD removal project for chemical enterprises

A certain agricultural chemical group produces 1000 tons/day of organic acid wastewater. After treatment with Haipu COD adsorption resin products, the COD is reduced from 7000-9000mg/L to below 1500mg/L. The effluent enters the biochemical system, effectively reducing the sludge load of the system.


The effluent pH is 6-7, and there is no need to add alkali neutralization, which greatly saves operating costs. At the same time, after the adsorbent is saturated and regenerated using the desorption agent, the desorption solution can be sold as a by-product, bringing additional benefits.
