Jiangsu Haipu Functional Materials Co.,Ltd.

Exhibition Closing | Haipu Appears at the 2026 Coal Mining and Coal Chemical Environmental Protection Industry Conference

From May 22 to 24, 2026, the Coal Mine and Coal Chemical Environmental Protection Industry Conference successfully concluded in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. As a grand event in the field of coal chemical environmental protection in China, this conference brought together numerous industry experts, corporate representatives, and technology suppliers. Jiangsu Haipu Functional Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Haipu") showcased its green solutions for resource recycling in the coal chemical industry at Booth C15, attracting widespread attention.

Hot Core Technology Directions in the Industry

Haipu's exhibition booth received a large number of representatives from coal chemical enterprises. Among them, bipolar membrane applications, phenol recovery, lithium extraction from fly ash, and deep calcium and magnesium removal became the hottest core technologies in industry consultations:

Bipolar Membrane Application ● 'Salt-to-Acid/Alkali' for high-salinity concentrated water, solving mixed salt problems

Concentrated water in coal chemical processes contains high salt content, and traditional evaporation crystallization often produces mixed salts that are difficult to handle. Haipu's bipolar membrane electrodialysis unit can directly convert purified salt solutions into high-purity acids (such as HCl) and alkalis (such as NaOH), which can be reused in production stages, significantly reducing solid waste disposal costs and achieving resource utilization of salts.

Phenol Recovery ● Extract resources from high-concentration phenolic solutions, reducing biochemical load

For high-concentration phenol wastewater generated from processes like coking, Haipu HP72 adsorption resin can efficiently enrich phenols (removal rate > 98%), and after desorption, recover high-purity sodium phenolate solution, which not only reduces wastewater toxicity but also generates economic value.

Lithium Extraction from Fly Ash ● 'Mining' lithium from solid waste

Acid leach solutions of coal mine fly ash often contain lithium. Haipu's aluminum-based (HPL165) and titanium-based (HPL910) lithium adsorption agents can achieve highly selective lithium extraction (recovery rate > 80%, product purity ≥ 99.9%), turning solid waste into high-value lithium products and opening new pathways for resource recycling.

Deep Calcium and Magnesium Removal ● Protect membrane systems and ensure reclaimed water quality

Hardness ions are the main cause of scaling in RO systems. Haipu HP4010 chelating adsorbent can efficiently remove Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ (removal rate > 99%) without adding chemicals, with effluent hardness < 1 mg/L, thereby extending membrane life, reducing operation and maintenance costs, and being suitable for various scenarios requiring deep purification.

Haipu Coal Chemical Full-Process Technology System

In addition to the directions highly focused on by the industries mentioned above, Haipu has a more comprehensive technological layout in the coal chemical sector. Centered on the "adsorption-membrane integration" technology, Haipu has established a full-chain solution covering pretreatment — biochemical influent treatment — effluent reuse — near-zero brine discharge — solid waste resource recovery, with mature materials and complete processes supporting each link:

  • Primary pretreatment: Deep oil removal, with oil content stably controlled below 1 mg/L, removal rate >98%, effectively protecting subsequent membrane systems.

  • Biochemical influent pretreatment: Various pathways such as phenol removal, ammonia nitrogen removal, deep hardness removal, and bipolar membrane phenol-acid production. Flexible combinations can be made according to water quality to achieve both pollutant reduction and resource recovery.

  • Effluent reuse: Targeting coal chemical boilers, gasification units, and circulating water systems, deep COD/color removal (effluent COD <30 mg/L), deep boron removal (boron <0.1 mg/L), deep silicon removal (silicon ≤0.1 mg/L), providing high-quality feedwater for RO systems and significantly extending membrane lifespan.

  • Near-zero brine discharge: High-concentration electrodialysis (energy consumption reduced by over 75%), targeted nitrate removal (crystal salt purity ≥99.5%), high-salinity wastewater refining and decolorization, and bipolar membrane acid-base production, supporting low-cost near-zero discharge.

  • Fly ash resource recovery: Valuable elements such as lithium and gallium can be extracted, converting solid waste into high value-added products.

Core products attract attention

At the exhibition site, Haipu focused on showcasing its independently developed special adsorption materials, covering multiple specific application scenarios such as lithium extraction, calcium and magnesium removal, oil removal, boron removal, fluoride removal, and COD/color removal.
